PRESIDENT'S REPORT

President Phyl Marsche'Hard to believe another year has passed since the last A.G.M. We continue to attract new members through the website and "word of mouth".

We have published three editions of the Aurora which receives very positive feedback with the production of old photographs and articles of interest sent in by members and through this people have been able to contact former school friends.

The reunion in November at Sandringham Football Club's venue, "Sandy on the Bay" stands out as one of the most successful and enjoyable events of the past year thanks to all of our members who attended. We hope to make this an annual event.

During August, Wendy Laughton and I had the pleasure of addressing Year Four students at Hampton Primary School on the history of the Old Hamptonians Association and experiences from our schooldays and our careers as teachers.

We contributed to the Sandringham Historical Society's Exhibition on the history of schools in the area with a collection of photographs depicting the early days of Hampton High School as well as some models dressed in our old school uniforms. from which we had some interesting feedback.

The last order of pavers has been laid, with thanks to Barry Harman who organised their collection and installation by a very kind person, free of charge. Since the project began some years ago, we now have over five hundred students represented along Memorial Walk in the Hampton High Reserve which is very well maintained by Bayside Council.

This past year saw the passing of one of our staunchest and well respected members, Mr. Jack Miller. We will miss him, wearing his old school jumper, at our reunions and meetings. We acknowledge the passing of the following members: Donald Cass, Violet Harris, Graeme Harrison, Robert Lindley, Joyce Paul (nee Meade)

As we begin the sixteenth year, my thanks go to all of the Committee for their continued support and commitment as we prepare for the Reunion on November 22nd at "Sandy on the Bay".

President
