2011 - 50s and 60s re-union - Unveiling of the Cairn celebrating the four houses; Flinders, Sturt, Eyre and Kennedy

Sunday 3rd April 2011 at Hampton High Reserve

What a great response we had to our 50s and 60s reunion. We were blessed with good weather and a fantastic crowd of over 90 new and old members. Many old friendships were rekindled and we enjoyed reminiscing over old times and sometimes trying to identify friends from school days.

One of the main reasons for the reunion was the unveiling of the Cairn celebrating the four houses; Flinders, Sturt, Eyre and Kennedy. How wonderful it was to see people embrace the theme wearing their house colours proudly in the pesence of some ex House Captains who were able to be there.

The unveiling was carried out by Mr Geoff Grant, a founding member of the Old Hamptonians and th guiding force behind the development and instigation of the cairn. Geoff gave an interesting and inspiring talk on the history of his association with Hampton High and the formation of the Old Hamptonians Association. It was also a good opportunity for people to see the pavers recognising individuals and families who had attended Hampton High.
