The unveiling of two bronze plaques was carried out by the Mayor of Bayside City Council, Cr Andrew McLorinan, supported by Cr James Long, Smith Ward representative, and Mr Murray Thompson MLA for Sandringham.
The two plaques carry the names of School Principals, School Council Chairpersons, School Captains (male and female), together with long serving school office staff, teachers, cleaning staff, and reference to the Mother’s Club over the period 1935 - 1988.
The Park opened from 11.30 am - 3.30 pm on the day.
Our Patron and Old Hamptonian Dr Ross Smith, former player of the St Kilda football club, and VFL Brownlow Medallist acted as Master of Ceremonies.
Approx 120 former students and staff members enjoyed a "mini-reunion" on a pleasant sun-filled afternoon.
A raffle was held and the Committee acknowledges the support of local traders in Hampton who donated excellent prizes.
We would also like to acknowledge the untiring work and effort put in by committee member Geoff Grant, who was instrumental in getting this project up and running initially, and arranging for the production of the Plaques, Liaising with the City of Bayside, and organising generally the days' procedures.... a BIG thankyou Geoff.
